history
The rock caught the imagination of the locals early on. There are legends passed down about stray hikers or unhappy couples in love.
It was not named cross tower until 1833. In that year the owners of a factory in the nearby Antonínovo Údolí are said to have placed an iron cross on the summit. Later, at the end of the 19th century, a lantern was even lit for the residents. It is said that this was carried up every evening and in all weathers by the weaver Josef Weiss. This custom lasted for over thirty years and ended only with the death of the weaver. A light was only lit at Easter, after 1945 this tradition also disappeared.
The cross was later removed from the summit, but rebuilt in its original location in 1987.
Today the rock tower is a popular climbing peak.
