K-Pop Star ( Korean: K 팝 스타 , long title 서바이벌 오디션 K 팝 스타 ) is a South Korean singing casting show that has been broadcast by the Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS) since December 2011 .

concept

The content of the program is to find a singer in a talent competition. It is also possible to play as a duo or band. Candidates for the broadcast are cast in various stages and then compete against each other in the live broadcasts, where they are judged by a jury.

The winner of the final can choose a label from the “Big 3” ( SM , YG or JYP ), with which he receives a contract and also wins 300 million won .

history

The original jury consisted of Yang Hyun-suk (founder of YG Entertainment and former member of Seo Taiji and Boys ), Park Jin-young (singer-songwriter and founder of JYP Entertainment ) and the K-pop star BoA , SM Entertainment represented. The title song of the show comes from BoA's One Dream . After the second season, BoA was replaced by the singer-songwriter You Hee-yeol . The live broadcasts were moderated during the first two seasons by the singer Yoon Do-hyun and the entertainer Boom . Jun Hyun-moo has been moderating since the third season .

The winner of the first season was Park Ji-min and Akdong Musician won the second season.
