The Sony Ericsson K750 is a mobile phone with an integrated digital camera and numerous multimedia functions. The device came on the market in June 2005 as the top model of the mobile phone product range of the Swedish - Japanese telecommunications company. It is the successor to the Sony Ericsson K700i .

The K750i has two technically identical sister models that differ in terms of color, software and different housings: the D750i ( T-Mobile version) and the Sony Ericsson W800i Walkman mobile phone . The small "i" stands for "international" and designates the marketing or application region.

In July 2006 , the successor to the Sony Ericsson K800 mobile phone appeared on the market.

The K750i was the world's first mobile phone with a high-resolution autofocus camera. The display has a resolution of 176 × 220 pixels and has a higher color gamut (262,144 colors) compared to the previous models. The internal 34 MB memory can be used with Memory Stick Duo memory cards (a 64 MB card is already included) can be expanded up to 4 GB. One shortcoming is the lack of implementation of the SIM access profile .

criticism

As with the previous Sony Ericsson K700i model, the durability of the “ joystick ” leaves a lot to be desired. According to Sony Ericsson's support, this problem cannot be resolved, but various sources report successful results after cleaning the contact areas with contact spray . According to Sony Ericsson, this error is manufacturing-related, but can be completely and permanently corrected by Sony Ericsson's repair support.

As with almost all Sony Ericsson mobile phones, forwarded incoming calls ( CF ) are only displayed as such for one second (at the beginning of the ringing signal) and are therefore practically undetectable.

The single-stage key lock is bypassed when the camera cover is opened. From this mode, pictures can be taken or camera settings can be changed. Furthermore, recorded images could also be sent as MMS if the correct key combination is pressed. To do this, however, at least six buttons would have to be pressed in the correct order. An unintentional change of the settings, for which a single press of a button can be enough, is more likely here.

Like all Sony Ericsson consumer models, the K750 is also artificially limited to a maximum of 300 calendar entries. According to Sony Ericsson, only the designated business models (such as the P series) are not affected by this limitation. A number of 300 entries can be achieved with just a few repetitive data, such as birthdays or weekly appointments.

The number of stored and still storable SMS (capacity display) cannot be displayed, nor can the number of characters already entered when creating an SMS. A warning is only given when the capacity limit is reached ("95% of the SMS memory is full" or a counter for the last 20 characters). However, the capacity limit for SMS can be increased to over 30,000 SMS by modifying the firmware.

Code name

Before it went on sale, the Sony Ericsson K750 was known by the code name Clara .
