K7 (born August 25, 1969 in New York City ; actually Louis Ramon Sharpe ) is an American singer , rapper and songwriter , who is also known under the name Kayel .

Career

Louis Ramon Sharpe, who was inspired by Afrika Bambaataa and the Cold Crush Brothers , is a representative of freestyle . Between 1985 and 1992 he was a member of TKA , a Latin hip-hop - Trio . The New Yorker then began his solo career as K7 and released his debut album Swing Batta Swing in 1993 with a mixture of rap , dancehall and dance . Half of the record features sung songs, the other half rapped songs.

The first release, Come Baby Come , became an international hit . The track reached position 3 in the UK charts , number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the top 30 in Germany , Austria and Switzerland . The successor, Zunga Zeng , entered the American charts in March 1994, as did Move It Like This a good year later . There were no further chart successes.

In 2001 Sharpe returned to TKA for the album Forever . In 2002 the K7 album Love, Sex, Money hit stores. It wasn't until 2009 that another K7 long player was released, The King's Agenda .
