KF Hajvalia (Klubi Futbollistik Hajvalia) is a Kosovar football club based in the town of Hajvalia, south of Pristina .

history

After being promoted in 2012, the club currently played in Kosovo's highest league , the Raiffeisen Superliga , before relegating to the country's second highest league in 2017. He is the most successful club in the city of Hajvalia.

The club attracted more international attention with their plan to borrow the Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez for four months. Suárez was subsequently suspended for nine international matches after the preliminary round match at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil against Italy for his bite attack against Giorgio Chiellini and excluded from all football activities at club level for four months. The club, which offered Liverpool FC a € 30,000 transfer fee , justified this step by stating that Suárez was allowed to play in Kosovo because FIFA does not recognize the state and the national football association is therefore not a member of FIFA.

The world football association made it clear that Suárez is not allowed to play in Kosovo either. If he were to move to Kosovo and be deployed there, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee would initiate a new investigation, which could lead to a tightening of the current ban.

Women's soccer

The women's soccer team KFF Hajvalia rose to the Kosovar Liga e Femrave in 2014/2015. One season later, they won the cup and championship double in the 2015/2016 season. Through the championship, the KFF Hajvalia qualified for the first time for the UEFA Women's Champions League ; as the first Kosovar team to take part in a European women's tournament. In addition to the titles, the playmaker and team captain Qendresa Krasniqi was also voted Player of the Year 2016.
