The DG 2000 CCM is a diesel locomotive type made by the manufacturer Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz (KHD). The six-axle vehicle has two long hoods, which gives it a striking appearance. A drive unit that acts on a bogie is installed on each side of the locomotive.

The locomotives, which were very large for private railroad locomotives and built in the 1960s, are still in use today; the last, number 34 of the WLE , was badly damaged in a train accident in mid-July 2007.

The series number 98 80 0421 was assigned to this type in the German Vehicle Settings Register.

Stock and variants

In fact, only three OHE locomotives were built as DG 2000 CCM . There they were given the company number 2000 91 to 93 and the names Celle , Lüneburg and Berlin . Only one of them (2000 92 Lüneburg ) is still in its original condition at Voith Turbo in Kiel . The 2000 91 Celle served as the basis for the Revita Twin 1700 CC built by Voith . The Revita is used in the Northrail locomotive pool. The 2000 93 is today - with a new engine and body - the WLE 30 .

The WLE 34 was originally a four-axle KHD DG 2000 BBM , but was later converted to six axles.

Two other locomotives were converted KHD DG 1600 CCM with originally only 1600 hp, these were the KNE DG 201 and 202 (both modernized with a new body).
