The Voith Revita Twin 1700 CC is a diesel-hydraulic locomotive built by Voith Turbo Lokomotivtechnik in Kiel on the basis of a KHD DG 2000 CCM .
history
The basis for the Voith Revita Twin 1700 CC is a diesel locomotive built in 1963 by Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz . The DG 2000 CCM machine was used as the 2000 91 CELLE until 2000 for the East Hanoverian Railways . The superstructures of the locomotive were scrapped in Celle in November 2004 ; The frame, gears and bogies were sold to a dealer in 2005 and transferred to Giessen . In May 2007 the transfer to Voith in Kiel followed, where the renovation work began. The new structure was completed in 2008, followed by test drives on the Voith test track in Kiel. The commissioning of the Voith Revita is dated July 7, 2011. The orange painted locomotive is owned by the Northrail leasing company and has so far been leased to CFL Cargo Germany and the railways of the city of Monheim , among others .

With the exception of the frame, gearbox and bogies, which were taken over from the DG 2000 CCM, the Voith Revita consists of new components and new designs. The locomotive is now powered by two diesel engines from Caterpillar . The Voith Revita is approved according to EBO and can drive routes up to route class B2. At the front there are energy consumption buffers and steps for better accessibility to the now air-conditioned and soundproofed driver's cab. The Voith Revita also has an electropneumatic brake , anti-skid protection from Knorr , wheel flange lubrication , radio remote control , a radio system of the type Mesa 23 compatible with train radio and GSM-R and the PZB 90 train control system .
