Cabinet La Marmora I
The cabinet La Marmora I ruled the Kingdom of Sardinia-Piedmont from July 19, 1859 to January 21, 1860. The government of Prime Minister Alfonso La Marmora had relatively little influence on the ongoing unification of Italy , since King Victor Emmanuel II after the resignation of Cavour II's cabinet wanted to largely steer this political process itself. Since he lacked the political talent Cavour , he was entrusted with the formation of the Cavour III cabinet .
La Marmora formed two more cabinets after the unification of Italy. Since the Kingdom of Italy emerged from the Kingdom of Sardinia in 1861, the counting of cabinets and legislative periods was not interrupted.
