geography

The glacier is entirely within Denali National Park . The nutrient area of the Kahiltna Glacier is below the Kahiltna Pass ( 3102  m ) 9.5 km west of the main Denali peak. The Kahiltna Glacier flows south. It is flanked by Mount Foraker in the west and Mount Hunter in the east. Above Mount Hunter, the Northeast-Fork-Kahiltna , East-Fork-Kahiltna and Southeast-Fork-Kahiltna glaciers flow into the main glacier from the east. The 85 km long Kahiltna River , a left tributary of the Yentna River , forms the outflow of the glacier.
