Kahula is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality of Jõhvi ( Jõhvi vald ). It is located in Ida-Viru County ( East Wierland ) in northeast Estonia .

Description and history

The village has 134 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012). It was first mentioned in 1241 in the Liber Census Daniæ .

In 1788 the village school was founded. The schoolhouse was inaugurated in 1877. Until then, the lessons had taken place on a farm.
