Kai J. Sasse
Kai J. Sasse (* 1959 in Kassel ; † March 10, 2012 in Hamburg ) was a German singer, songwriter, narrator and translator.
Life
After graduating from high school, Sasse became known as the singer of the punk band Wankers in his native Kassel . With Stephan Balkenhol and Peer Schröder , he published poems inspired by Dadaism and the American Beat Generation in 1976 in the magazine Schorli Morli . The issues, printed on a Spirit Carbon transfer printer , were secretly thrown into mailboxes in Kassel at night. In his early twenties he moved to Hamburg-Eimsbüttel and settled there permanently. At the end of the 1980s he co-founded and singer of the avand-garde hardcore punk band Hannibal Lecter Society in Hamburg .
The agnostic and anarchist studied American studies and worked as a translator. He translated Sara Craven's novel Rendezvous with a stranger .
The last years of his life were shaped by his commitment to the World Wide Fund For Nature in the marine protection project.
Works
Kai J. Sasse wrote song texts , prose and poems and published in the magazines Schorli Morli , Loose Blätter Sammlung , magazine for applied alphabet and art as well as in the opponent .
As the singer of the Hannibal Lecter Society , he wrote all the lyrics for the band. Texts that arose in spontaneous ecstatic improvisations and are characterized by fervent honesty.
