Kai Matthiesen is a German music producer .

Kai Matthiesen started his career as a DJ in the Bremen discotheque U2 , where he met Jens Neumann, with whom he planned the techno group Satellite 1 , from which the dance project Mr. President emerged , with which he celebrated great chart successes (including “ Coco Jamboo "," I Give You My Heart "," Up'n Away "). The title “Enterprise Techno”, which he produced, ran as background music for the TV trailer for “ Raumschiff Enterprise ” on Sat.1 in 1991 , the follow-up single “Young Indy” became the theme music for the Sat.1 series “ The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones ".

In 1997 and 2000 he also worked with the German pop group Münchener Freiheit . The artists produced by Matthiesen include a. also the band Alphaville , David Hasselhoff , Rosenstolz and Scatman John . His productions have won numerous national and international music prizes, including twice the Echo , the VIVA Comet, twice R.SH Gold, the BMI Award and the Finnish Music Award. He has also received more than 30 gold and platinum awards for his sales success.

In 2006, Matthiesen released a fusion album called Kai's Cape Town Lounge . He worked with African musicians such as the trumpeter Chekandino Ztabat and the bassist Rahim Rudo , recorded choirs of the Maasai and mixed these chants with those of George Abiona and Abasi Shakir from Cape Town . In Bremen he worked on the final mix with German studio musicians, including the saxophonist Wolf Codera .
