Kai Moser

Kai Moser (* 1944 in Potsdam ) is a German cellist .

Life and artistic work

He is the son of Hans Joachim Moser (German musicologist, composer, singer and writer) and his wife Dorothea geb. Duffing; his sister is the singer Edda Moser . He received his first lessons on the cello at the age of eight. He studied in Berlin, Detmold and the USA, a. a. in Austin / Texas with George Neikrug . At the University of Texas at Austin, Kai Moser taught violoncello from 1968 to 1972. In 1974 he became a member of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra .

From 1974 to 1984 Kai Moser was a member of the Bell'Arte string quartet ; from 1984 to 2003 he was a member of the Röhn Trio Munich . With this trio he gave over 500 concerts and recorded several CDs.

The musician lives near Munich and is married to the soprano Edith Wiens . Her sons are the cellist Johannes Moser and the pianist Benjamin Moser .
