The Kaiser-Brauerei AG in Berlin-Charlottenburg is a former brewery , which mainly gained fame through the beer brand Charlottenburger Pilsener . The brewery site was in the Klausenerplatz location between Danckelmannstrasse 9 and Sophie-Charlotten-Strasse 92-94.

history

The wheat beer brewery for export in Charlottenburg, founded in 1884, was sold again in 1886; the Kaiser-Brauerei AG established itself at their location , which was taken over by Ernst Engelhardt Nachf. AG in 1910 through a merger . From 1917 the Engelhardt Group developed into the second largest brewery group in Germany, which was " aryanized " in 1934 in favor of Dresdner Bank .

In 1977 a new brewhouse was built. In 1983 Schultheiss took over the brewery, which was finally closed in 1998. The area at the corner of Danckelmann and Christstraße was rebuilt from 1995 to 1998 as Engelhardt-Höfe using some old buildings.

The property was divided up in 1985. The new buildings on the site on Sophie-Charlotten-Strasse were acquired by the State of Berlin and demolished in favor of a newly built commercial center.
