The Kaisheimer Kasten in Lauingen , a town in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube , was built around 1610. The building at Herzog-Georg-Straße 53 is a protected architectural monument .

history

It has been handed down since 1307 that the Kaisheim monastery north of Lauingen Castle owned a house and yard . In 1498 these buildings were relocated to today's Herzog-Georg-Straße 53. The current building, built by Gilg Vältin around 1610 , replaced an older building. Nothing is left of the outbuildings today.

description

The three-storey, eaves construction with six to four axes is by a gable roof covered. At the rear there is a narrow extension in the line of the west gable, which encloses a small courtyard with the main building. On the street front, on the outer axes above the two upper floors, a rectangular bay window is attached to profile brackets under a roof . The portal consists of a basket arch in a rustic field with pilaster strips . A plaster tape runs between the first and second floors, the house edges are made of plastered pliers blocks. A circumferential, profiled eaves cornice serves as the gable base. At the west gable, the three floors and the gable field are separated by profiled cornices.
