The cocoa thrush ( Turdus fumigatus , also: Sabiadrossel ) is a songbird from the thrush family (Turdidae). It is not one of the endangered species .

description

The brownish bird with light breast feathers has a gray beak and dark gray iris rings . The cocoa thrush reaches a body length of 22 to 24 centimeters.

The cocoa thrush lives in densely forested areas in South America between Colombia and Brazil .

nutrition

The cocoa thrush feeds mainly on ants and insects , but also on berries, worms and insects.

Reproduction

The cocoa thrush breeds individually, it does not form swarms. The female lays two to three eggs , which are incubated for about two weeks before the young birds hatch.
