Cockroach Salad is a card game by Jacques Zeimet that was released by Drei Magier Spiele in 2007 .

Style of play

The game contains 128 playing cards, printed with the 4 types of vegetables tomato, lettuce, bell pepper and cauliflower, 16 of which are also marked with cockroaches.

procedure

At the beginning, as far as possible, all cards are distributed evenly to the players. In turn, the players now begin to draw the top card of their personal pile, place it on the discard pile in the middle and name the displayed vegetable as quickly as possible. However, the type of vegetable that the person in front has just named or that is on top of the discard pile cannot be named. In this case, one of the three other vegetables must be called (not a variety not included in the game). When playing a taboo vegetable card marked with cockroaches, cockroach must be called. Then the game continues in parallel on a second pile and the vegetables shown on the taboo vegetable card may no longer be named. This continues until such a card is turned over on the second pile and you switch back to the first pile.

Anyone who makes a mistake, stutters or ponders too long (or audibly) must record all the cards as a penalty. Whoever has removed his deck of cards first ends and wins the game.

Cockroach soup

In 2008, the stand-alone game Cockroach Soup , which can be combined with cockroach salad, was released. The rules are almost the same, except that instead of taboo vegetable cards, there are slurp cards . A slurping sound must be imitated with the vegetables shown. However, this must not be repeated, instead it must be followed by an enjoyable hmmm .

When combining the games, it is recommended that you take two vegetables from each version, but keep both rules.
