Drei Magier Spiele was a small German game publisher and has been a children's game brand of the Berlin publishing house Schmidt Spiele since 2008 .

history

Drei Magier Spiele was founded in 1994 in Uehlfeld, Franconia by Kathi Kappler , Johann Rüttinger and Rolf Vogt . In 2003 the small company first entered into a sales cooperation with the Schmidt Spiele publishing house . In 2008 Drei Magier was completely absorbed in the Schmidt Games; the Berlin publishing house took over all rights and obligations so that the name lived on. The founders wanted to retreat to the less strenuous subject of writing and designing children's books and shortly afterwards founded the children's book publisher Drei Hasen im Abendsonne , but in 2012 they got back into the development of children's games.

Awards

Some of the publisher's games received awards: Venice Connection received the 1996 Game of the Year special “Beautiful Game” award , and in 2004 Geistertreppe became Children's Game of the Year . Nacht der Magier won the German Children's Games Prize in 2006 and received the Essen spring for the high quality of the rules and the French As d'Or - Jeu de l'Année enfants in 2007 . The magical labyrinth was children's game of the year in 2009. Mogel Motte won the German Children's Games Prize in 2012.

The publisher also published books about games.
