Essen spring
The Essener Feder (also known as the Golden Feather ) was a game award that was awarded by the city of Essen as a traveling award. The author's game with the best rules was awarded. This was intended to promote comprehensibility and accessibility.
Initially, the Essener Feder was awarded together with the game of the year award, and since 1990 together with the German Games Prize . The prize was awarded for the last time in 2016. Instead of the Essen pen , the city of Essen has been awarding the innoSPIEL prize for the most innovative game of the year since 2017 .
