Marco Teubner

Marco Teubner (born 1972 in Roth ) is a German game designer who primarily focuses on children's games. He also develops adaptations of family games for children and, in recent years, games for the Tiptoi system at Ravensburger Verlag. Several of his games have been nominated for game prizes such as the game of games ; in 2016, Stone Age Junior won the Jury Prize Children's Game of the Year as well as the Essener Feder for best game instructions.

biography

Marco Teubner was born in 1972 in Roth near Nuremberg in Franconia. He studied applied cultural sciences and cultural education at the University of Hildesheim . From 1997 to 2000 he received a grant from the German Business Foundation . Since 2002 he has been working as a freelance game designer in Antdorf , Upper Bavaria, and in 2003 he received a game designer grant from the Jury Spiel des Jahres e. V.

Its first publications took place in the mid-2000s with games such as Willis wilde Wühlerei and Bravo Piepino (both 2005) and in 2006 the game Zoff im Hühnerhof was included in both the game of games in the list of games for children and in the recommendation list for children's game Year recorded. In the following years, several games he developed were included in the recommendation lists of the children's game of the year, some such as Curli Kuller (2009) or The Little Dragon Knights (2012) were even nominated for the best game for children. In 2016, with Stone Age Junior , a children's game adaptation of the family game Stone Age , he won the Jury Prize Children's Game of the Year as well as the Essener Feder for the best game manual, in the same year his game Pushing Raven was awarded as a children's game as part of the Game of Games as well as nominated for the Toy Innovation Award .

Marco Teubner is a member of the game authors' guild (SAZ) and was its chairman from 2015 to 2017.
