biography

Seyfarth was born in Munich in 1962 and grew up in Haar in the outskirts of the city. In 1981 he graduated from high school , after which he did his community service in a hospital in Haar. He became an administrative officer and trained in Cologne , Dieburg and Munich from 1983 to 1986, and in 2005 he worked as a financial controller for Deutsche Telekom . In 1979 he met his future wife Karen , whom he married in 1988.

Together with his wife, he deepened his enjoyment of the game. He was inspired both from classic board games like chess and card games , were added newer games such as Game of the Year winning games Sagaland and hare and the tortoise and Acquire and Dodge City . Together with Karen, who was employed by Schmidt Spiele , he developed the card game Max and Moritz in 1991 and other games followed such as Zorro , Spiel des Friedens and Harry, everything is about on behalf of Schmidt Spiele. In 1994 he won the jury award Game of the Year with the Manhattan urban development game , which was published by Hans im Glück Verlag . According to his own statements, Seyfarth created Manhattan at the request of Bernd Brunnhofer , the then managing director of Hans im Glück Verlag, who wanted to publish a building game in his publishing house. In the same year he published Waldmeister on behalf of the Bavarian State Forest Administration.

After a long break, Puerto Rico was released in 2001 , which was also nominated for Game of the Year and won the German Games Prize, and in 2004 San Juan . With Spiel Thurn und Taxis , released again in 2006 with Karen Seyfarth , he again won the title for Game of the Year, followed by the Thurn and Taxis extensions in 2007 - Glanz and Gloria and Thurn and Taxis - All roads lead to Rome (both together with his Woman) as well as the new game Giants of the Skies .
