Bernd Brunnhofer (born July 27, 1946 in Graz ) is a German game publisher ( Hans im Glück ), game editor and game author .

Act

Bernd Brunnhofer graduated from high school in Austria and then came to Germany. He studied sociology and became a sociology lecturer at the Technical University of Munich . In 1983 he founded Hans im Glück Verlag as a backyard company in Munich and shortly afterwards worked full-time there. He worked as the sole managing director until 2008, after which his son Moritz Brunnhofer joined the management. His greatest success as a publisher and editor is the Carcassonne game , which won the Game of the Year award in 2001 as well as the German Game Prizewas awarded. Bernd Brunnhofer retired on January 1, 2017, leaving the sole management of the company to his son.

Brunnhofer also publishes under the pseudonym Michael Tummelhofer and lives in Munich . He had a great success as an author with Saint Petersburg , with which he won the 2004 German Game Award. his game Stone Age , developed in 2008, was nominated for Game of the Year 2008 and came second in the German Game Award.

In 2002 Brunnhofer was awarded the Golden Decoration of Honor of the State of Styria .
