List of game prizes
A game award is an award, usually given annually, for outstanding games of a year in a cultural nation. The most coveted award for board games is the game of the year , which has been presented in Germany since 1979. Since then the award has found many imitators in different countries; since 1984 in Sweden, since 1987 in Denmark and since 1994 in Finland a “Game of the Year” has been awarded in various categories. The best children's game and the best adult game are often awarded prizes.
In the United States, more conflict simulations have been played and so there are game awards that focus on conflict simulations (especially the Charles S. Roberts Award , formerly part of the Origins Award ).
