The Kakure Rocks ( Japanese 隠 れ 岩 Kakure-iwa , Norwegian Løyndesteinane , translated on both sides as Hidden Rocks ) are two rocky outcrops on the Crown Prince Olav coast on the western foothills of the Enderbyland . They are on the eastern flank of the Shinnan Glacier .
Surveys and aerial photographs of a Japanese Antarctic expedition that lasted from 1957 to 1962 were used to map them. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred the Japanese designation in 1968 in a partial translation into English.
