Kalle Stropp and his friend Boll is a Swedish short animation film directed by Jan Gissberg in 1987.

action

When the chicken discovers a worm in the morning and tries to catch it, it has no idea that it is running into a trap: Shortly afterwards, it is kidnapped by the men Pudding and Kalson, and the fox witnesses the scene. Meanwhile, grasshopper Kalle Stropp fries up pancakes and is disturbed by the frog Gustav Boll, who leads him to the latest invention of the Blech-Niklas robot. He is currently in the process of building a car out of a tin can and other things and both friends are taking part. Suddenly the fox appears and reports about the kidnapping of the chicken. Kalle, Gustav and the parrot, who also hurried up, take up the chase in Blech-Niklas' car. However, this is only operated with the energy of an open shower bottle, as the clumsy Gustav spilled the gasoline. So it happens that the car comes to a standstill after the thief car is chased towards Stockholm . The parrot, however, is caught unhappily on the stolen vehicle and is carried away.

In Stockholm, Kalle and Gustav see an advertising poster that draws attention to the magician Puddingi , who will perform at the city's Dramagiska Teatern. Backstage, Kalle and Gustav see the parrot and the chicken prepared for a magic trick again. On stage, Pudding as “Puddingi” explains to the audience that he will turn his assistant “El Kalson” into a chicken. The "metamorphosis" goes wrong, however, because instead of the chicken at the end, Gustav is sitting in the metamorphosis hat. The two thieves flee with a chicken and a parrot, while Kalle and Gustav are carried away by a red balloon and finally fall on a house. They discover a chicken and a parrot in an apartment across the street. Gustav manages to get into the apartment, but he is arrested by the thieves. They flee to a lake with the frog, the chicken and the parrot. Kalle receives help from Blech-Niklas, who takes him to the thieves' motorboat. After some chaos, the chicken and parrot can be freed and pudding and kalson can be tied up. Blech-Niklas, in turn, helps the two magicians in the end: He gives them a solution that makes everything invisible that comes into contact with them, but which can be washed off with water. So they got an even better trick for their next show and are happy.

production

After Kalle Stropp, Grodan Boll och deras vänner (1956), Kalle Stropp and his friend Boll were the second film and first animation of the stories about the grasshopper Kalle Stropp and the frog Gustav Boll, which Thomas Funck wrote for the radio in the 1940s and later also spoke. Funck wrote the script for the film and dubbed all of the characters in the original. He also wrote the film music. The film was made as an animation. The animation comes from Lars Emanuelson, Hans Hägerström, Stig Bergqvist and Jan Gissberg; Gissberg also directed.
