Kalophrynus punctatus is a species of amphibian in the family -mouthed (Microhylidae).

features

The species reaches a length of 27 millimeters. The animals are dark brown and dotted black on their upper side. Fingers and toes are noticeably short. The fourth finger is as long as the second. The third toe does not protrude beyond the fifth toe.

Occurrence

Kalophrynus punctatus occurs in the west of the island of Borneo in the extreme west of Sarawak in Malaysia and the adjacent northwestern Indonesian part of Borneo at altitudes above 1000 meters.

Systematics

The species was first described by Wilhelm Peters in 1871 .

Kalophrynus punctatus is classified by the IUCN as "Vulnerable" (endangered).
