Kaloyanovets is a village in the south of Bulgaria . It is located in Stara Sagora Oblast near the district capital, Stara Sagora . It was founded under the name of Jambas between 1800 and 1830. In 1936 the village was renamed Kaloyanovets. A census in 2011 showed that around 29.4% of the population belong to the Sinti and Roma ethnic group.
On July 12, 2014, a train accident occurred in Kaloyanovets at around 3:17 p.m. EET . A regional train on its way from Sofia to Varna derailed near the level crossing due to an incorrectly set switch. Some passengers were seriously injured and the train driver was killed. Jambazetto
