Kalypso is a German metalcore band from Lingen (Ems) .
history
Kalypso was founded in 2008. Their style of music is a mixture of metal and hardcore. The name refers to the nymph Calypso from Greek mythology. After an intensive phase of songwriting and a first EP called Kugelfisch , the debut album Nyktophobie was released in 2011 on the befriended label Rock Range Records . This was followed by various reviews in Metal Hammer and Legacy (music magazine)
With the current line-up, the EP New Chances at Blastbeat Productions in Kiel was created in early 2012 . A video for the song Trees Only Grow on Strong Hearts followed and was viewed over 35,000 times on YouTube alone within a year .
The band is now traveling all over Germany and plays shows with Adept , Bring Me the Horizon , We Butter the Bread with Butter and many more. The latest work is titled Gläserne Augen and was released in the summer of 2013 via Acuity.Music (digital) and Rock Range Records (physical).
