Kamill Arturowitsch Frautschi ( Russian Камилл Артурович Фраучи ; born December 19, 1923 in Moscow , † August 21, 1997 ibid) was a Russian violinist and one of the most influential guitar teachers in Russia.
Life
Like other Swiss cheese makers, his grandfather Christian Petrowitsch Frautschi was invited to Russia by Tsar Nicholas II at the end of the 19th century . Frautschi was born in Moscow in 1923 as the son of Artur Christianowitsch Frautschi ("Artusow"). His father played a key role in founding the Soviet secret service and became head of the OGPU's Foreign Intelligence Service (INO) . He eventually fell out of favor with Josef Stalin and was executed in 1937. Kamill was arrested at the age of 16 as the son of a so-called " enemy of the people " and spent a total of five years in the Gulag . He survived his imprisonment as a violinist in the prisoner's orchestra.
After his rehabilitation he studied violin with Jelena Gnessina at the Gnessin Institute in Moscow . After that he was violinist in the Moscow Chamber Orchestra and lecturer at the Rostov Pedagogical University. Later he turned to the guitar. As a freelance music teacher in Moscow , he taught his son Alexander Frautschi as well as Juri Nugmanow , Juri Vedenjapin , Ilja Podolski , Oleg Timofejew , Anna Tontschewa and Evgeni Finkelstein . It was not until the end of the 20th century that the guitar was included in the curriculum of the state conservatories.
