The chamber choir of the Frauenkirche Dresden is a chamber choir that was founded by Frauenkirchenkantor Matthias Grünert in 2005. It consists of 30 professional singers who are mainly dedicated to works of a cappella literature and oratorios of the 17th and 18th centuries.

On the occasion of the visit of the President of the United States of America, the Chamber Choir received Barack Obama musically on June 5, 2008 in the Dresden Frauenkirche.

The chamber choir went public for the first time on February 13, 2005 with the musical arrangement of the first opening of the Frauenkirche after it was largely completed. In 2005 he gave his first a cappella concert in the lower church of the Frauenkirche. Since then, the main tasks have been the musical arrangement of the church services, the spiritual Sunday music, concerts and other events in the Dresden Frauenkirche . In addition, the choir can also be experienced as church music ambassador for the Frauenkirche in concerts outside of Dresden, with numerous concert tours not only in Germany, but also repeatedly to France, Italy, Great Britain, Switzerland, Belgium and Japan.

In addition to the regular rehearsal times, all choir members receive advanced voice training lessons. The ensemble's repertoire mainly includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach ( Christmas Oratorio , St. John Passion , B minor Mass , the four Lutheran masses , cantatas BWV 1 , 4 , 33, 62 , 65 , 67 , 79, 110 , 137 , 180, etc., Motet " Jesus, my joy "), Utrecht Te Deum , Alexanderfest and Jephtha by Georg Friedrich Handel, "The Christ at the Grave of Jesus" by Christian Ehregott Weinlig, the Petite Mass solennelle by Gioacchino Rossini , cantatas by Gottfried August Homilius , the Requiem by Gabriel Fauré , The Creation , Harmony Mass and Nicolaimesse by Joseph Haydn, Great Mass in C minor by Mozart, The Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ by Salieri, and many a cappella works, including the sacred choral music by Heinrich Schütz.
