Harmony fair

The Harmony Mass in B flat major by Joseph Haydn ( Hob. XXII: 14) was written in 1802 and is Haydn's last great mass . Its name comes from the large line-up of wind instruments ( harmony music ) for the time.

The mass was premiered on September 8, 1802, on the name day of Princess Esterhazy, in the mountain church in Eisenstadt and lasts about 46 minutes. The line-up includes four solo voices, a choir , strings , flute, two oboes, clarinets, bassoons, horns, trumpets, timpani and organ.
