Ridge
The Kammlauf is an international cross-country skiing competition for popular sports . It takes place in the Ore Mountains between Mühlleithen , Carlsfeld and Johanngeorgenstadt . The event is considered the largest ski marathon in the new federal states and was part of the Euroloppet series until 2019. The route leads over large parts of the ridge trail along the Czech- German border. The ridge run has been carried out since 1973. In the mid-1980s, over 1,500 competitors took part in the ridge runs.
