Combat Association of German Architects and Engineers

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kampfbund Deutscher Architekten und Ingenieure ( KDAI ) was a professional association during the Weimar Republic and the time of National Socialism .

The KDAI was founded in the summer of 1931 as part of the Combat League for German Culture by Paul Schultze-Naumburg , Gottfried Feder and Franz Lawaczeck . In 1932 it already had over 2000 members, which initially indicated its attractiveness.

With the DC circuit after the seizure of power in 1933, the traditional professional associations as should BDA and work federation by the will of Alfred Rosenberg are integrated into the KdAI, but here he was in competition with the DAF and the Reich Chamber of Culture . In September 1933, Rudolf Heß withdrew his earlier order that the KdAI was the only organization recognized by the NSDAP for the collection of German architects and engineers. By order of May 30, 1934, the KDAI was dissolved and, with membership restricted to party members, under the leadership of the Main Office for Technology, transferred to the NS-Bund Deutscher Technik .
