Kanadukathan ( Tamil : கானாடுகாத்தான் Kāṉāṭukāttāṉ [ ˈkaːnaːɖɯˌkaːt̪ːaːn ]) is a place in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu with around 5,300 inhabitants (2011 census). It is located in the Sivaganga district twelve kilometers north of the city of Karaikkudi on the road to Tirumayam .

The small town of Kanadukathan is next to Karaikkudi the most famous place in the Chettinad region . Chettinad is the home of the merchant caste of the Nattukottai Chettiar , who made considerable wealth in Southeast Asia during the British colonial era in the 19th century and built opulent properties in their hometowns with the newly acquired money. One of the richest and most influential Chettiar families, the clan of the Rajas of Chettinad , comes from Kanadukathan. The hereditary honorary title " Raja of Chettinad" was awarded in 1929 by the British Crown to the merchant and philanthropist Annamalai Chettiar (1881-1948). Kanadukathan has a particularly high density of Chettinad estates, the most outstanding of which is the Palace of the Rajas of Chettinad. While it is still inhabited by the Chettinad Rajas family, other properties have been converted into hotels, so tourism is increasingly becoming an important economic factor in Kanadukathan.

97 percent of the population of Canada are Hindus , 1 percent each are Muslims and Christians . The main language, like in the whole of Tamil Nadu, is Tamil, which is spoken by 99 percent of the population as their mother tongue.
