- Kanal Lokal Göteborg broadcasts in the greater Gothenburg area via the transmitters Uddevalla, Trollhättan and Bäckefors.
- Kanal Lokal Skåne broadcasts in Skåne via the Hörby, Malmö and Helsingborg transmitters.
- Kanal Lokal Stockholm broadcasts in the greater Stockholm area via the transmitters Nacka , Västerås, Uppsala and Östhammar.

history
Kanal Lokal has its origins in a local canal in Östergötland called NollEttan . The transmission of this channel started in 1999 via DVB-T . Plans to expand to Gothenburg, Skåne and Stockholm arose in 2005. The first attempts under the canal name NollEttan were made in Skåne in spring. In September 2005 broadcasting began in Stockholm and in November of the same year in Gothenburg, both under the name NollEttan.
The company was largely founded by the venture capital firm IT Provider. In the beginning, Kanal Lokal began to cooperate with Expressen , a Swedish newspaper that provides the broadcasters with news. In October 2005 the company announced that it would be broadcasting free-to-air.
Kanal Lokal initially had problems with the distribution of its channels, especially to feed into the vital Com Hem cable network. Only in Östergötland did you have a free channel in the cable networks there from the start. In April 2006 it was announced that Kanal Lokal would get a free slot in the Com Hem basic package for Gothenburg. But it took until October 2007 for Kanal Lokal to be fed into the Com Hem cable network in all four distribution areas.
In December 2007 Kanal Lokal terminated the contract with Expressen to provide news for the Stockholm Canal. This led to the fact that the program of Kanal Lokal Stockholm was shortened and programs of the other Kanal Lokal versions were taken over.
In March 2008 the broadcasting licenses of Kanal Lokal were extended and Kanal Lokal received the broadcasting license for Småland , Dalarna and parts of Norrland .
In mid-January 2009, Kanal Lokal had to file for bankruptcy due to a drastic drop in advertising income.
Reception in German-speaking countries
The four channel local programs were among the few free-to-air Swedish channels in the German-speaking area. They were broadcast via Thor 2 at 5.0 ° East until mid-January 2009 .
