Kang Bong-chil (born November 7, 1943 ) is a former North Korean soccer player . With the national team of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea , he took part in the 1966 World Cup in England ; here Kang Bong-chil with the shirt number "4" played the group game against the Soviet Union - against Chile , Italy (each group stage) and Portugal (quarter-finals) Kang Bong-chil was not used. In 1966 he was under contract with the April 25 sports group . In addition, the 172 centimeter tall defender played in four World Cup qualifiers against Australia (two games), Iran and Syria (one game each) in 1965 and 1973 .

Kang Bong-chil did not appear in the documentary The Game of Their Lives in October 2002 .
