Kano (* 21st May 1985 in London , City District Newham , district East Ham ; bourgeois Kane Brett Robinson ) is a British Grime - Rapper . His grandparents came to Britain as Jamaican immigrants. He used to be a key player in the London based music group NASTY (Natural Artistic Sounds Touching You) Crew.

biography

In his youth, Kano attended Langdon Comprehensive School in Newham, where his mother teaches netball . Kano later graduated from Barking University with a degree in graphic design. He was an avid soccer player in his youth and played for Chelsea FC , Junior Hammers and Norwich City at the age of 13 . But soon he ended his sports career and turned to music. Kano became better known in the UK grime scene when he first appeared on NASTY. After that, Kano began his solo career and worked on his first solo album Home Sweet Home (2005). With the release of his solo single "P's & Q's", which was released as a 12 "vinyl record, Kano celebrated great success and fame in the underground scene for the first time.

Awards and Achievements

In 2005 he won the MOBO Award for best newcomer. He also received the "Best of British" award from Channel U. On New Year's Eve 2005, the Governing Mayor of London Ken Livingstone declared Kano to be one of "London's 2005 Heroes". In January 2006 Kano was nominated for a BRIT Award for the best urban act. He also made a guest appearance in the British film "Rollin 'with the Nines" and is a playable character in Def Jam: Icon .
