The canton Hofgeismar was an administrative unit in the Kassel district of the Fulda department in the Napoleonic Kingdom of Westphalia . The city of Hofgeismar in today's Kassel district was the capital of the canton and seat of the justice of the peace . The canton comprised six villages and hamlets and a city, was inhabited by 4,215 people and had an area of ​​1.44 square miles .
