The canton of Mamoudzou-1 is a canton in the French overseas department of Mayotte . It has an area of 23.4 km² and includes the villages of Passamainty, Tsoundzou 1, Tsoundzou 2 and Vahibé in the municipality of Mamoudzou .
geography
The approximately one square kilometer large and almost completely forested island of Ilot M'Bouzi, almost 1800 meters off the coast of Passamainty, belongs to the canton.
history
From 1994 to 2015 there was a canton of the same name, which included the villages of Mamoudzou and Kaweni in the municipality of Mamoudzou, i.e. the area of today's canton of Mamoudzou-3 . Assani Ali was a representative on the Mayotte General Council from 2008 to 2015.
