Pulpit in the Church of St-Etienne in Lille

The pulpit in the church of St-Étienne in Lille , a French town in the Nord department in the Hauts-de-France region , was created by François Rude in 1824/25 . The wooden pulpit was added to the list of listed buildings ( Base Palissy ) in France in 1971 as Monument historique .

The pulpit is decorated with a relief depicting the stoning of St. Stephen . There are two wooden sculptures on the base that symbolize religion and hope. A wrought iron grille surrounds the figures.

The sound cover, which is draped like a theater curtain, is crowned by angels.
