The cape Archer is a headland which the northern boundary of the entrance to Granite Harbor on the Scott-coast of the east Antarctic Victoria Land marked.
The cape was named by the northern group of the Terra Nova Expedition (1910-1913) under the direction of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott after Walter William Archer (1869-1944), the cook of the research trip.
