Cape Dundas is the eastern cape of Laurie Island in the archipelago of the Southern Orkney Islands north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It forms the foothills of the Ferrier Peninsula .
The British navigator James Weddell sighted the cape on January 12, 1823 and named it after the Scottish Dundas family, from which numerous well-known politicians emerged.
