The Cape Gordon is a rugged and 330 m high headland , the eastern end of the West Antarctic Vega Island south of Trinity Peninsula forms.
Participants in the Antarctic expedition (1839–1843) led by the British polar explorer James Clark Ross discovered it. Ross named it after Captain William Gordon (1784-1858) of the Royal Navy , Lord Commissioner of the British Admiralty .
