Cape Hansen is a cape on the south coast of Coronation Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It separates Iceberg Bay from Marshall Bay .
The name Hansenpynten for the cape is included on maps from the 1920s by the Norwegian whaling captain Petter Sørlle (1884–1933), who surveyed the South Orkney Islands between 1912 and 1913. The most common name today goes back to scientists from the British Discovery Investigations in 1933. It is named after the Norwegian Hans P. Hansen, who sailed the waters around the South Shetland Islands with the Lansing between 1925 and 1926.
