Cape Hesperides ( Spanish Punta Hesperides ) is a headland on the south coast of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . The cape protrudes into South Bay and is 1.4 km north of Johnson's Dock .
The cape is named after the Spanish polar research ship Hespérides .
