Johnson's Dock (also known as Johnson's Dock , Jonson's Dock , Johnson Dock , Johnson Harbor , Johnson's Harbor, and Jones Basin ) is a branch of the South Bay on the south coast of Livingston Island in the South Shetland Archipelago . It is located in the eastern part of South Bay on the west coast of the Hurd Peninsula .
The name has been known since around 1821. Several people can be considered as namesake. One of them is Captain Robert Johnson, who operated with the sealer Jane Maria off the South Shetland Islands between 1820 and 1821.
