Cape Hunter is a rocky headland on the East Antarctic George V coast . It is located 13 km west of Cape Denison on the west bank of Commonwealth Bay .

Participants of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered the cape in 1912. Mawson named it after John George Hunter (1888-1964), the lead biologist of the expedition.
