The Cape Jewgenow ( Russian Мыс Евгенова Mys Jewgenowa ) is an icy cape midway along the northeast side of Krylov Peninsula at the Oates Coast of the Australian Antarctic Territory . It marks the western boundary of Lauritzen Bay .
Aerial photographs were taken during the US Operation Highjump (1946–1947), during a Soviet Antarctic expedition (1957–1959) and a 1959 campaign as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . The scientists of the Soviet expedition named the cape after the Soviet hydrograph Nikolai I. Yevgenov (1888–1964). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated this designation into English in 1967.
