Cape Michailow ( Russian Мыс Михайлова Mys Michailowa ) is an ice-covered cape on the Sabrina coast of the East Antarctic Wilkesland . It is located around 67 km east of the Totten Glacier .
The American cartographer Gardner Dean Blodgett (* 1925), employee of the Department of Geography in the United States Department of the Interior , mapped it in 1955 using aerial photographs of Operation Highjump (1946-1947) of the United States Navy . Further aerial photos were taken in 1956 during a Soviet Antarctic expedition. It is named after Pawel Nikolajewitsch Michailow (1786–1840), Russian painter and draftsman and participant in the first Russian Antarctic expedition (1819–1821) led by Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen .
