Cape Scott is a cape on the Pennell Coast of East Antarctica, Victoria . It is located 10 km southeast of Cape Oakeley on the west side of the confluence of the Dennistoun Glacier in the Somow Sea .
The British polar explorer James Clark Ross discovered the cape in 1841 during his Antarctic expedition (1839–1843). He named it after Peter Astle Scott (1816–1900), mate on board the ship HMS Terror on this research trip .
